Squid can use only one replacement algorithm?

In squid.conf there is an entry to specify the replacement
algorithm. The default one is LRU.

Does it mean that when squid meeting with replacement events,
it can only use LRU? I mean, through the whole runtime of Squid,
Squid only use one replacement algorithm.
