Squid can also be run as a proxy / accelerator. Which means that you can use
your normal web port 80 to run it under.
In squid.conf set squid to use the http port 80 and turn on the proxy /
accelerator in the configuration, then set your web server to run on port 81
and all requests will come to squid on 80, any it doesn't know about it'll
chuck to your web server on port 81.
This is how i've been running it here for a while now, works great!
