I would like to see this as well. I don't know what the coding
implications are, but the Apache 1.1.1 server can accept connects on
multiple ports so it is possible.
This would also help people wanting to run Squid as a httpd accelerator on
port 80, but still accept requests on 8080 (or any other) to retain
backwards compatibility with the previous configuration. Losing port 8080
has major implications if you risk having to reconfigure hundreds or
thousands of customers. Not everybody uses Netscape so automatic proxy
config isn't the total solution.
