Here is a very simple automatic configuration program that I'm using:

dnsDomainIs(host, ".albatross.com")) &&

return "DIRECT";

return "PROXY squid.albatross.com:3128; DIRECT";

It is lifted pretty much verbatim from the Netscape Navigator release
