Yes, that means:

(a) The request was sent, but the connection closed after the response headers
were received but before the document itself appeared.

or,

(b) The request was sent, and the connection just closed without anything at
all coming back.

This is usually very familiar to anyone debugging CGI scripts or who has
suffered through a Roxen/Spinner proxy.
