adding www & .com

I was sure this would have been answered in the FAQ or the arhives, but I
can't seem to find it anywhere.

Is there any option to have squid try a set of addresses before returning a
DNS Domain 'cnet' is invalid?

I would like to have squid try these from being sent only 'domain'.

        www.domain.com
        www.domain.org

        first, and if it's a ftp:// request then

        ftp.domain.com.
