I use the syslog and the log files.
To enable syslog I modified (very small modification!) the debug.c :
I commented the " if (level == 0 && opt_syslog_enable)" line
and added " syslog(LOG_ERR, "%s", tmpbuf);" after " tmpbuf[1023] =
'\0';".
Maybe it's not very clean but it's OK for me.
Don't forget to run squid with the -s option
