Thanx. Actually I was at an HP Networking seminar recently and they were
talking about this new BIG layer-3 switch that they have now. It's the
AdvanceStack Switch 2000B. Layer 3 switching is standard, and it has the
following modules (it can hold up to 6):
* 4 10base-T ports
* 4 10base-FL ports
* 2 100base-T ports
* 2 100VG ports (HP makes it after all ;-)
* 1 FDDI port
* 1 ATM port (dunno what rate, probably OC-3)
They also make a router card for it that is the equivalent of a 2503 and
runs real IOS. Kinda neat, eh? We're thinking about using it as a big core
switch/router between our other big routers and caches/webservers. It
looks like a real nice unit.
