You can change what URLs are used for the images. To support IE you have
to have a icon server available (any web server nearby will do), load a
icon directory on the server (with the correct icon names), and change
ftpget_options in squid.conf (run ftpget manually to get a listing of
available options).. I think there is a entry in the FAQ on this.
