        I think you should look at the value you have set for cache_mem.
The value of cache_mem should be approximately one third of the amount you
want squid to use.

        For example, if you want squid to use 210 Mb you should set
cache_mem to be around 70Mb or so.

        This is documented in the squid documentation at
