Look through this list archive for numerous postings with the same question
and/or read the FAQ again.
In short, there is _no_ squid.conf option that limits the total memory
requirement for Squid. If you think there is one, you probably set options
like cache_mem to very high values and get huge process size as a result.
Read the definition of cache_mem again.
