Upgrading CERN site to Squid-1.1.22 not going to plan...

Hi there

I'm bring our parent company up to Squid from CERN (to match our site), and
have come across a wierd one that I can't explain.

[Environment: replaceing CERN caching server with Squid cachine server -
both talking to a Squid proxy-only server in the DMZ that actually does all
off-site connects]

Through CERN, the site http://wwwapp.us.dell.com/premier/ works fine. We
fill in the form shown there via IE4 or Netscape4 and it all works fine.
Reconfiguring the browser to talk to the new Squid server tho', and IE4
reports an error message that it can't find the next page that submitting
the form redirects you to. This is an IE error popup - not a Squid error
page. It says it may be that the page doesn't exist, or it may be that IE's
security settings are incorrect. It can't be the former as that would have
resulted in a Squid error page - not a popup. It shouldn't be the latter
(security settings) as this all works when going via the old CERN proxy
(happens both with Medium and Low security settings).

This must be due to a bug in IE4 (surprise!), as Netscape works with either,
but I'd like to know why (this site is used lots by IS using IE). What could
Squid be doing that CERN didn't? Especially as these both simply tell the
upstream Squid server to do the request for them (they are both TCP_MISS -
no DIRECTS), I can't see how Squid's cool features like RETRY/etc could be
affecting this...

This is a grotty one to figure out - POSTed forms aren't the easiest to
decypher...

Any ideas?
