I'm running Squid as user "cache" which it's home-directory as
/usr/local/squid. The configuration-file of Squid (squid.conf)
should be in /usr/local/squid/etc In the config-file you can define
the location of the logfiles and the place of the disk-cache (which
must both be writable by user "cache")
Also the directory /usr/local/squid itself should be writable by user
"cache" because this is the place of the squid.out file..

Cheers, Henny
