[squid-users] MSNT_auth : how to make it working ?

hello

i have installed squid 2.4 stable 1 + squidguard 1.1.4
and it works fine

now i have to use the msnt authentification, and here
begin my problems :
msntauth v2.0.2 is correctly installed but the testing
protocol in console mode fails (and of course
authentification in squid fails too) so if someone can
help me i would appreciate a lot

here's the testing protocol in console mode and my
results :
#begin of the procedure
- Press ENTER to get an OK or ERR message.
=> i get 'ERR'

- Make sure pressing CTRL-D behaves the same as a
carriage return.
=> if i type nothing before making CTRL-D i exit program
if i type somtehing before, i need to do 2 times CTRL-D
and i get 'ERR'

- Make sure pressing CTRL-C aborts the program.
=> ok

- Test that entering no details does not result in an OK
or ERR message.
=> i don't really understand the meaning of 'no details'
as if i hit enter i get 'ERR'

- Test that entering an invalid username and password
results in an ERR message. Note that if NT guest user
access is allowed on the PDC, an OK message may be
returned instead of ERR.
=> i get 'ERR', and it seems that the NT guest is not
allowed by the PDC

- Test that entering an valid username and password
results in an OK message. Try usernames which are and
aren't in the denied/allowed user files, if they're in
use.
- Test that entering a guest username and password
returns the correct response.
=> i get 'ERR' everytime
#end of the procedure

my msntauth.conf only contains that line :
server 194.4.2.1 (which is the NT4 PDC ip) 194.4.2.1
(which is a the same ip as there's no BDC) DTM (which is
the NT domain)

i tried to replace the server ip with any ip (of any
other computer or an ip that is not attribued) and it
behaves the same in testing (but the ping with the PDC
work of course)

another thing is that the Windows NT 4 Domain Controller
hasn't the service pack 6a installed (i don't know if it
is important or not to mention it)

and last question (as the program msntauth is not a lot
documented) : is there a log (and where) to check why the
authentification fails ?

thx in advance for your support ^_^
damien
