[squid-users] ncsa_auth ascII problem

        Hi people,
        I'm having a problem with autentication in Squid 2-4.Stable4
running on RedHat7.2 and Slackware7.1 .
        When I'm using passwords with caracters/keys like ! @ ¨ ^ squid
returns "authorization failed" . But , if I use the same passwd file in a
.htaccess schema there is no problem.
        Anybody knows how to fix the problem ? My keyboard is in
Brazilian ABNT standard.
