That's nearly impossible ; you should e.g. have valid cache
dir etc. in squid.conf for proper operation.
- I would review squid.conf, even for minimal operation.
- Try 2.4STABLE6 as your standard version.

- I don't need any special acl, for hotmail to work, I am using
2.4.STABLE6 on Linux, well the squid version is not that
important in relation to this problem.
- The only issues you can get with hotmail, or ssl sites , is
if you use transp. proxy and have no solution for ssl connection
for instance.
- If the browser is using a proxy conf setup ; then hotmail should
work fine; provided the squid box has an ok internet access path en
configuration.
