Henrik,
I must be missing something, I have looked at the help associated with
./configure and do not see anything directly concerning the null cache.
Sorry for the more than likely stupid question, but can you provide
additional information?

Do you get any error message when you run "squid -z"?
Also check "squid -k parse".

To use the "null" store type you first need to compile support for it into
Squid. See ./configure --help
