Hi, pals!
I am puzzled at some statements of the FAQ of squid log
files. In squid FAQ, part 6, it is said,
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The frequent time lookups on busy caches may have a
performance impact on some systems. The compile time
configuration option --enable-time-hack makes Squid
only look up a new time in one second intervals.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I am puzzled at these points. What means "time lookups"?
What means "look up a new time in one second intervals"?
Can you give me a simple explanation?
Best regards,
George Ma
