Has anyone encountered a problem with Squid 2.4 and IE where the HTTP Header
"UserAgent" has a value of "Unknown/1.0" when it should be something like
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; Q312461)"?
We have a web site that requires IE 5.5 or higher and detects the browser
version by looking at the UserAgent HTTP Header. One of our clients has IE
6.0 and when we read the UserAgent HTTP Header the value is "Unknown/1.0"
but we would expect it to be "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98;
Q312461)". We key off of the "MSIE 6.0" part of the string to detect the
browser version and since the text "MSIE" is missing we assume that they are
not using IE. They are using Squid 2.4 as their web proxy. Could the Squid
web proxy be changing this HTTP Header?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
