[squid-users] smb_auth

Hi all,

im currently using squid version 2.4 stable 3. i've tried to use smb_auth so
that the Windows NT password and squid password would be the same.
i've done the following
1) create proxyauth file with "READ" access on the Netlogon share of the
Primary domain controller
added the lines in squid.conf
2) authenticate_program /usr/local/squid/bin/smb_auth -W SVR10
3) acl password proxy_auth REQUIRED
    http_access allow password
enable the samba client utilities

i keyed in the username password but authentication does not seem to work.
i recompiled squid and there are no problems with it.
do i need to do any changes to the smb.conf file of samba?
