You may have reached the maximum number of files on /data.
Do not use more than 50% of the capacity.

There a more reasons not to use all the capacity:
Reiserfs (recommended FS on linux for squid-dir) has a bad perfomance
when filled up.

I remember something about the sizing: roughly the traffic of 3 days.
If you need more space, add more disks, squid perfoms better with more
disks. No need to stripe the disks.
