[squid-users] ntlm_assert.patch to apply or not?

Should the squid-2.5.STABLE5-ntlm_assert.patch patch be applied when using
ntlm_auth helper supplied with Samba 3.0x?
We are experiencing the "assertion failed: helper.c:323:
"srv->flags.reserved" errors frequently under load ( 56 http requests per
sec.).
