The most secure way is moving it out from the network, making your new
gateway the gateway available to people to use. At most this requires one
more network card in the new gateway (assuming it only have one nic
today..) and to change the "internal" IP of the old gatway.

Or add filtering on the old gateway to restrict who may use it, but
depending on what you are doing it may not be as easy.
