I tested a littel bit around (putting STABLE4 back in action colves
the problem). Also versions STABLE5 and STABLE& work. Only when i
install STABLE7 the 0 byte error with ftp upload occurs.
My squid is configured with.
--prefix=/usr --exec_prefix=/usr --bindir=/usr/sbin --sbindir=/usr/sbin --libexecdir=/usr/lib/squid --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/spool/squid --datadir=/usr/share/squid --enable-async-io --with-pthreads --enable-storeio=ufs,aufs,diskd,null --enable-removal-policies=lru,heap --enable-snmp --enable-delay-pools --enable-underscores --disable-hostname-checks --enable-referer-log --enable-useragent-log --enable-ssl --enable-default-err-language=German --disable-internal-dns --enable-gnuregex --with-openssl=/usr/include/
The access log shows nothing special (maybe i have missed something
becyuse of the many clients using the proxy) log_mime_hdrs has been
turned on.

127.0.0.1 is because i used an ssh forward to the proxy itself to
test.
Other things i saw when i looked at cache.log:
Many many entries with clientProcessHit: Vary object loop!
AND
2004/11/11 09:28:53| authenticateDecodeAuth: Unsupported or unconfigured proxy-auth scheme, 'mckv?ud`|bn'
This part (mckv?ud`|bn) changes randomly.
Another strange thing was that i have set delay_pools class 1 and they
only work on http and not ftp.
Sorry for the many questions at once.
