smbauth doesn't want to authenticate with my Windows 2003 server domain.
When I test this I use the following command:
/usr/lib/squid/smb_auth -W xxxxx -U 172.30.2.31 -S /loginscripts$ -d
jpretorius xxxxx
Domain name: xxxxx
Pass-through authentication: no
Query address options: -U 172.30.2.31 -R
Domain controller IP address: 172.30.2.31
Domain controller NETBIOS name: PDC
Contents of //PDC/loginscripts$/proxyauth:
ERR
I also tried an smb mount to the share on the server:
mount -t smbfs -o username=jpretorius,password=xxxxx //pdc/loginscripts$
/mnt/smb/
I then get this output:
cli_negprot: SMB signing is mandatory and we have disabled it.
25299: protocol negotiation failed
SMB connection failed
Is there possibly security settings I have to set in my Windows Domain
(Group Policies)?
A search on the web revealed that the smbclient doesn't support SMB signing
which is a default requirement on 2003 server domains.
Any help will be appreciated,
Johan Pretorius
