Hi,
I know that this problem has been discussed before and the agreement was
there was a problem with DNS. Basically, with squid 3.1.15 the
following site takes ages to load:
https://www.my.commbank.com.au/netbank/Logon/Logon.aspx
The interesting tidbit I can add is that this site seems to load fine
using squid 2.7 stable 6, same DNS infrastructure, same internet
connection, pretty much equivalent squid configuration about the only
thing that varies apart from the platform is the version of squid
itself.
I also see this at home on my NetBSD machine running squid 3.1.15, the
site is very slow. At home I added the IP addresses for the site into
/etc/hosts and this immediately cut the page load times from somewhere
in the region of 30 - 60 seconds to less than 10 seconds or so. This
does point the finger at DNS but the fact that two different versions
of squid give markedly different results seems to indicate that squid
is not handling something correctly. Any thoughts?
