sorry for the last emails kindly ignore that.

i am not very senior in linux but recently i deployed squid and
replace the ISA Server 2006. i was facing the same thing. the solutions,
which kinda resolve the issue for me (for now) is.

1, DNS caching (powerdns)
2, reducing destination block list.
previously i was using 2 MB destination block list for blocking chat
and social sites in office hours.
which was quite a huge list and i was unaware of that.

and one more thing you can lookinto blocking youtube or video
streaming if limited bandwidth is a problem.
