Sorry:( When I say mount point I mean that in my case I am mounting
partitions
on the cache dirs specified in squid.conf:

mount /dev/sda2 /usr/local/squid/cache
mount /dev/sda3 /usr/local/squid/cache1

These partitions are mount at boot time, like any other partition. I found
that if I created a
directory on the root of each partition and then set THOSE dirs as cache
dirs then squid -z
executed normally:

mount /dev/sda2 /usr/local/squid/cache
mount /dev/sda3 /usr/local/squid/cache1
mkdir /usr/local/squid/cache/1
mkdir /usr/local/squid/cache1/2

Of course, you only need to do this once.

Happy Holidays!
